Bug Description

An x86_64 laptop upgraded from ubuntu 8.04.1 to 8.10 stable

Linux obiwan 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP Thu Oct 30 04:12:22 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux

No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 8.10
Release: 8.10
Codename: intrepid

Upon navigating to any mount point or directory from the "Places" gnome menu, the directory/file system is opened up using totem media player rather than nautillus.

for example, if I visit Places -> Home from the gnome desktop my home directory is opened up in totem, with the playlist showing the contents of my home directory.

The only exception to this is when I visit Places -> computer where nautilus actually opens.

This was not the behaviour of 8.04.1, no manual changes have been made post the upgrade so I can only assume this is a bug in the update from update-manager, or from gnome it's self as a post upgrade product.

I seem to be having the same problem, only easytag is acting as filemanager.
I'm currently using 8.10, upgraded from 8.04.1 (32 bits).
Easytag opens for all the mount points, bookmarks and network servers in the places menu, except for places -> computer just as it happens for the op.

The places menu did work fine for about two days after upgrading to 8.10, it was only after trying to have xchat open a folder that this happened, but that may be unrelated.
