mail-notification not showing new mails anymore

After upgrading to 8.10 mail notification doenst show systray icon on new mail anymore.
I enabled the info output, which showed the app is logging in correctly and getting the new mail header, but no systray icon is appearing.

It seems that mail-notification doesn't show mails as new when they are marked as [SPAM] by the server.
Most of these messages are not spam tho (at least here) so mail-notification wont notify me, can i disable this behavior, i want to get notifies for every mail please.

Please confirm: Are messages being marked as spam by an Evolution plug-in like Bogofilter or Spamassassin, or are messages being marked as spam by an upstream mailserver?
