Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
I was using 8.04 only a few minits ago and i had the same problem (i have ubuntu 8.10 now), With hotmail, To get the latest features with hotmail it says i need to update to firefox 3.0. and i do have 3.0.3. why is it still doing this. even after a ubuntu update?

This is a Microsoft bug as far as I know. They are checking your browser ID and they are still looking for Firefox 2. Firefox 3 (for Microsoft) is older than Firefox 2. It's a bug. It is possible to switch off browser ID, but that's a bit tricky.
If you look for an alternative, opera (opera.com) is a great browser and hotmail pops up without this annoying "update request".
