This is known in bug but this has been fixed in 2.7.7-5.

I'm confirming this issue and assigning a low importance because this report is the only case we've seen so far.

bug reports I am referring to are bug 32688 and the master bug 42632

This can also be one of the utilities launched during postint (and thus not related to 32688 nor 42632).
They are not used anymore now (in Debian, 3.0.0-1 at least). Therefore, the problem will disappear in the next Ubuntu release.
