Karma reset to 0 (zero) when merging accounts losing everything

Few weeks ago, I merged my two accounts, my new one and my old one. My old one had around 140 karma pts and I was member of the Ubuntu Canada Team. After the merging, I saw nothing, no karma pts, no teams, no avatar, etc. I lost everything.

So, now, I try to remerge my accounts, using the merging tool. He found the old account, but the thing is, this account have my old Canonical email, and this email doesn't work anymore. So I try to login in my old account with the old email, but finally, this account doesn't exist.

Anyway, it's just really weird. I know it's hard to understand...

You merged from an account with karma to an account without karma. Karma is not transfered during the merge because it it can be used as an incentive for users to sell accounts.

Something screwed up here.

The old account (I'm assuming jdecarie) has two validated email addresses (a gmail and a canonical one) but neither is preferred. This account is not flagged as merged.

How was the account originally merged? I would expect to see something like this only if someone tried to modify the database directly.

So I believe this is normal. The merge never happened. One email address was claimed into the new account, but the two old one remain. If Jack has access to neither the gmail or canonical email addresses any longer, an admin merge will be needed.

jdecarie needs to be merged into kzorg.

kzorg will need to confirm he is the rightful owner of the jdecarie account somehow. IS might have tokens around such as SSH keys, or Montreal might be able to confirm.
