Bug Description

I have realized of this issue after passing the patch gst-plugins-bad0.10 (bug #208068) but I'm not sure if it was present before.
I play a video and set the totem volume control to maximum then I click again to the volume control to reset it to another value but the volume drop down automatically to a lower value. Then every time I click on it, the totem volume resets automatically to a lower value.

@Sebastien, I discovered that there are two issues, one that happens when I set totem volume to maximum (1) and the other when I set the totem volume to a value lower (2) than maximum:
In the case (1) the issue happens only when I move totem player to the bottom of my desktop in a way that its volume control, once clicked on opened, go above the gnome apps bar: so the volume control is always resetted to a lower value. The same issue happens if I totally maximize totem player window: in fact in this way the totem volume control always goes up the gnome apps bar.
In the case (2) the issue is always present but it'is almost "invisible": in fact every time I click on the totem volume control and I do nothing (that is, after clicking on it I click on another point of totem window in order to close the control) the volume is always lowered but just about 2% or 3%.

I test this on Hardy Heron x86_64 (fully updated) and totem 2.22.1.
Have you the opportunity to test these in Intrepid?
If not confirmed I will report it in upstream.

I tried the issue in Intrepid too (alpha version) and the problem is confirmed.
I will also try in the stable version and then I think we can mark the bug as "confirmed".

Also confirmed in Intrepid stable.
Has someone else the same issue?

Umm. I found that i didn't need to click on the icon to change the volume. When my mouse arrow is over the speaker icon my mouse wheel can roll the volume up and down. Clicking on the icon is a good way to quickly mute the volume, which i like.

Good luck :)

Sorry. yes i do have this problem too, although i've not checked what happens in windowed mode - just the same in full-screen though. I think i'm using Hardy.
