Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

When selecting a large chunk of text and then try to move it around, Firefox and the whole system freezes. If you have selected a little text, then it will return to normal after a while. If a large chunk then you may not have the nerves to wait for it to return to normal.

I'm using:
Kubuntu 8.10
KDE 4.1.2
Firefox 3.0.3

This issue is not present in KDE 3, also I have observed it in the earlier versions of KDE 4.

Hi,

firefox extensions are the cause for the majority of bugs reported against firefox.

To check that the bug you are seeing is actually a firefox one (and not an extension one), please disable your extensions one-by-one (restart firefox in between) until there is either no enabled extension left or your problem is resolved.

Please report your findings back.

Thanks,

I disabled all extensions, but the problem is still here. Same thing under firefox in safe mode.
I'm beginning to think the issue is in my machine or drivers. I couldn't reproduce this at another Kubuntu with KDE4.
