Ubuntu upgrade[8.04->8.10] Could not install 'linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic'

Bug Description

After installing the Intrepid Ibex upgrade, an error message popped up. It says:

"Could not install 'linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic'

The upgrade will continue but the 'linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic' package may be in a not working state. Please consider submitting a bugreport about it.

subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 3"

I expected Ubuntu to upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10. Instead, error messages popped up prompting me to send a bug report.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This particular bug has already been reported and is a duplicate of bug 269539, so it is being marked as such. Please look at the other bug report to see if there is any missing information that you can provide (in particular, please provide these files if you have them: /var/run/grub/menu.lst.ucf-new, /var/run/grub/menu.lst and /boot/grub/menu.lst), or to see if there is a workaround for the bug. Additionally, any further discussion regarding the bug should occur in the other report. Feel free to continue to report any other bugs you may find.
