Bug Description

I's using Intrepid Ibex RC and my Logitech Vx Revolution is being detected as a Logitech Mx620 and stoped working as soon as this happened.

I've done a new install and upgraded to the most recent packages. It didn't work with the base install aswell.

I'm not sure the bug is kernel or Xorg related. I have installed xserver-xorg-input-all and xserver-xorg-input-evdev as suggested in some bug reports found in Launchpad.

I'm attaching the outputs of lspci, lsusb, dmesg, uname, version signature and also Xorg.log.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

I think I've narrowed it down to evdev package. If you need any more info please let me know

This bug was reported against the linux-meta package when it likely should have been reported against the linux package instead. We are automatically transitioning this to the linux kernel package so that the appropriate teams are notified and made aware of this issue. Thanks.

affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu) → linux (Ubuntu)

Hi gauss,

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic . If the issue remains, please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 290879

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
