Elisa display is corrupted

Hi,
I get a corrupted display in Elisa.
This never happened on Hardy.
This happened first after I upgraded from hardy to intrepid and now it happens again after I made a fresh install using the RC live CD.
This happens both with and without desktop effects.

This is probably connected with the same problem I am having with wine applications.

Specs:
Intel Core2duo
ATI onboard graphics card.
Intrepid AMD64
