Bug Description
I have seen this problem reported in various forums, but I couldn't find a bug report for it.
I have recently upgraded from Hardy to Intrepid, and now when I attempt to open a folder via the Gnome Places menu, a gnome-terminal session opens instead of nautilus. Looking at the Ubuntu Forums, other people have seen the menu hijacked by VLC, SMPlayer, and even GParted.
One suggestion was to go into Nautilus and attempt to open a folder via the "Open With..." menu and selecting Nautilus. This did not work for me.
