Would you please let me know the following:
- what Ubuntu release are you running (paste output of "cat /etc/issue")
- contents of your /etc/ap/sources.list

Thanks!

ecryptfs-utils is not trying to remove those packages.

Aptitude previously marked these packages for removal. When you invoked the installation of ecryptfs-utils, it noticed a bunch of other stuff it had in queue to do.

See:
http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/dapper/man8/aptitude.html

        keep-all
Cancels all scheduled actions on all packages; any packages
whose sticky state indicates an installation, removal, or up‐
grade will have this sticky state cleared.

Thanks for your reply (and time),

In that case, my last question is:

Why don't these packages show up in the new Cruft Remover?

I'm sorry, I don't know what the new Cruft Remover is.

Perhaps you can reassign this bug to that package.
