Bug Description

Binary package hint: karm

since some days (auto-updates) karm ignores my settings about idle-time (10min) and came up with the usual warning message after less than a minute.
As I use the german layout I don't know the exact english words in the configurationmenu.

Is reproducible; karm doesn't respect the setting for idle time.

Confirmed here on Kubuntu Hardy 32bit, too
I first thought it might be an issue due to my dual-screen setup.

I hit this issue also on Gentoo (and this was the only bug-report I've googled out), and I've discovered the cause and a workaround...

The problem is that internal representation of the time in idle time detector has been changed from minutes to seconds, and the idle-time setting started to be wrongly treated as time in seconds not in minutes. So to set 10 min idle time, you need to enter 600 minutes :-)

An untested patch is attached (I don't have compilation prerequisites).

Enjoy!-)

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Thanks!
