Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

When I launch an application from the icons in the gnome-panel, the panel cover the upper side of the window and doesn't autohide until the mouse pointer pass over the panel (just touch a pixel inside the panel and then it hides).
Disturbing because you can't see the upper side of the window of the application you have launched.

Pedro:
Yes, this is reproducible every single time.
1) Tell gnome-panel to autohide.
2a) Click on a launcher, or
2b) Open menu on an applet (e.g. preferences, power history...)
Observe panel does not autohide.
3) Mouseover panel, move pointer away from panel.
Observe panel autohides.
The problem does not occur using the menubar to launch applications, or using the show desktop button.

I can not confirm this for launchers, but for preferences menus:
1) Tell gnome-panel to auto-hide
2) Right click on the clock applet
3) Choose Preferences
4) Move the mouse away from the panel
-> The panel does not auto-hide, you have to hover and un-hover it again.

Btw: I have compiz deaktivated so this seems not to be a compiz bug

Thank you.

I tried it with compiz aktivated/deaktivated: Compiz does not influence the behavior, so I set this to "invalid"

I found three bugs in the upstream tracker that describe the problem:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=529785
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=302574
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134563

Don't know which to link here. Maybe they don't know about the duplicates, either.
