To dark prinouts with Samsung Color Laser Printer CLP-300N

I have problem with printouts on my Samsung Color Laser Printer CLP-300N. The printaouts are to dark. It is not possible to se some colors. I find no way to change brightness level for my printer. I get this information when I bugcheck in Printer
Config.

I'm also encountering this problem in Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) and 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) with a CLP-300. Gamma can be adjusted with system-config-printer (System > Administration > Printing) by going to Job Options > Image Options > More > Gamma but it's a trial and error process which wastes a lot of paper. I have to set it anywhere from 2500 to 5000.

I believe the problem is with the ICM profile included with the driver, not gnome-photo-printer. See this forum thread for a solution:

Ubuntu 12.04 and CLX-3175. Very dark color prints. 5 years and counting :)
