Bug Description

Hello!
I'w got seg. fault in gproftpd
I install proftpd+ gproftpd with Synaptic, work in Ubuntu 8.10 RC

in autocreate shortcut, command to run, look like - "su-to-root -X -c /usr/sbin/gadmin-proftpd", something wrong im think. If try to launch - got error: "details: was a failure at perform process-descendant(child) sudo-to-root (No such file or directory)" Im edit this command, and run gproftpd without sudo well and got message u must be root, with sudo im got seg.fault error
Launch in terminal does not give me any details about this error.

Confirmed in Intrepid. I get the error message "Segmentation fault" when running in the terminal. The window pops up for maybe .3 seconds before it closes.

Is this going to be fixed soon?

Confirmed, same behaviour as alecwh stated. I'm using Intrepid - latest kernel 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP Tue Nov 4 19:33:20 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux
Please fix :) Thanks!

Same problem in Intrepid, kernel 2.6.27-7-generic. But the strangest is that when I launch gprotpd from a terminal, sometimes I just get a segmentation fault, sometimes a gtk error comes with the segmentation fault ((gadmin-proftpd:14747): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_entry_set_text: assertion `GTK_IS_ENTRY (entry)' failed), sometimes gproftpd opens and closes immediately without any error message, sometimes it opens and works but fills the terminal with lots of GTK errors of the kind :
(gadmin-proftpd:14947): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_entry_set_text: assertion `GTK_IS_ENTRY (entry)' failed

(gadmin-proftpd:14947): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_spin_button_set_value: assertion `GTK_IS_SPIN_BUTTON (spin_button)' failed

These problems began to occur as I upgraded from Hardy to Intrepid a few days ago.

Not a fix, but while a fix gets developed/posted, i recommend webadmin. But yes, I would love to have a gnome ftp administration tool.
