no sound after kubuntu upgrade

Bug Description

There is no sound after a kubuntu upgrade to 8. I have fiddled with some settings (seems system settings sound from auto detect to oss did the trick) Sound came back slowly (bit by bit, first desktop, then mplayer, then amarok etc)

soundcard hda-intel nvidia ALC861-VD on board

What KDE version were you using before? What Kubuntu version were you using before?
