Bug Description

Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

After updating my 8.04 to 8.10 beta, firefox is always segfaulting when there is flash content on a page. Disabling the flash plugin solves the segfaults, but no more flash...

Tried the .deb from adobe's webpage, but it gives the same result. (adobe-flashplugin).

This is fun, apache2, cupsd, transmission and more program stopped working after i upgraded to intrepid, all with:

transmission: error while loading shared libraries: libgnutls.so.13: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have now solved this by downloading libopencdk10_0.6.6-1ubuntu1_i386.deb and libgnutls13_2.0.4-1ubuntu2.1_i386.deb from the hardy reps. After a dpkg -i all is well and apache2, cupsd and flash in firefox is now working!

But Why? What went wrong in the upgrade?

maybe a not complete dependency? Maybe we need to add those to the depends?

This bug is so old, now firefox shouldn't crash anymore since 3.6.(8) I think...

could you try again with the latest flash plugin?
