Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

Hello all.
I'm new to ubuntu.
And I've been able to connect perfectly with pidgin for about a few weeks now..
But one day while trying to connect pidgin gives me the error:
"Failed to connect to server."
I also use the XFire plugin which gives me the error:
"Couldn't create socket"
Heres my debug log:

Oh. And I have a lil modem right next to my pc. It doesn't look like its even touching the internet when trying to connect.

ANOTHER BUG:
Pidgin closes if I try to right click and click copy from the debug window!

Terminal output:

adr14n@w0rkst4t10n:~$ pidgin
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to help make Ubuntu better. However, it seems that you are not using a software package provided by the official Ubuntu repositories (Gfire plugin). Because of this the Ubuntu project cannot support or fix your particular bug. You may however find it useful to upgrade to the latest release of Ubuntu, which includes Pidgin 2.5.2. If the problem still occurs, please report this bug to the provider of the software package. Thanks!
