Bug Description

Binary package hint: konsole

1. Ubuntu 8.04.1, installed kubuntu-desktop package, with all updates as of 2008-10-23.
2.
konsole:
  Installed: 4:3.5.10-0ubuntu1~hardy2
  Candidate: 4:3.5.10-0ubuntu1~hardy2
  Version table:
 *** 4:3.5.10-0ubuntu1~hardy2 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy-updates/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     4:3.5.9-0ubuntu7 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages
3. Expect: after changing window size, then scrolling upward, then typing or using keyboard to cycle through command history, window resets so that the entry line is the last line on the page.
4. Actual: window resets so that the entry line is the nth line from the top, where n is the vertical size of the window before the window's size was changed.
5. Reproducability: always
Open Konsole.
Enter a command that will have output over a screen in length, such as "ls -l".
Maximize the Konsole window.
Scroll upward.
Type something or use the arrow keys to navigate.

Note: the problem continues to occur until the next command is executed, even if the entry line is visible. This is particularly annoying when consulting a --help for an unfamiliar command.

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. While we appreciate your issue, it would be better if it was tracked at https://bugs.kde.org, so that the KDE developers can deal with this speedily and have direct communication with you as the reporter for more effective debugging.

Thanks!
