resolving names in ".local" domain

Bug Description

I try to resolv then name "torrent.pvthome.local"

sergey@sst-laptop:~$ nslookup torrent.pvthome.local
Server: 192.168.143.1
Address: 192.168.143.1#53

Name: torrent.pvthome.local
Address: 192.168.143.1

It works. But if i try to connect:

sergey@sst-laptop:~$ telnet torrent.pvthome.local 80
telnet: could not resolve torrent.pvthome.local/80: Name or service not known

Firefox and other application are the same "can't resolv"

In 8.04 it work nice.

Solved.
By default nsswitch.conf:
hosts: files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns mdns4

I change this to:
hosts: files dns mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] mdns4

and now it works fine.
