Bug Description

When I go to places then to any of the folders there it opens firefox instead of nautilus. Using the live cd this is not the case but I've reinstalled (and formatted) several times now and it always happens, really interesting problem but annoying all the same. When I click a folder anywhere else (such as Desktop folders) it opens nautilus.

Forgot to mention that my root partition is separate from my /home partition. A lot of people say they have never seen this problem so maybe that's where the issue lies is when you have different partitions --> I have three partitions, /,/home,/media/main, all of them open firefox when I go to places--then to the partition.

Similar problem but it opens mplayer (and after unistalling that Totem) instead. There is a windows partition on this machine but no other partitions.

I just had the problem where mplayer (actually for me it was vlc since it's my default media player) opened on another machine. I found that the only way to fix it is to do a CLEAN INSTALL of Intrepid, if you do an upgrade or if you do an install without formatting the partition you get the problem....hopefully there is a fix posted soon but so far the only way that I've found is the clean install...unfortunately I thought I had backed up my entire system but ended up losing some stuff because I left out some hidden files (such as my conky files which took me forever to configure :( )
