Bug Description

Binary package hint: gstreamer0.10-plugins-base

Intrepid 64bit / fully updated as of now

I can't do anything with gst, including gst-inspect, launching totem, etc. This trickles all the way up to crashing gnome-settings-daemon on startup.

No idea what's wrong. I've tried reinstalling this package; no dice.

-----------------------
$ gst-inspect-0.10

ERROR: Caught a segmentation fault while loading plugin file:
/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstlibvisual.so

Please either:
- remove it and restart.
- run with --gst-disable-segtrap and debug.
Error initializing: Error re-scanning registry , child terminated by signal
