Bug Description

When I was reading a PDF dokument in Okulkar, and clicked on a link, it tried tro open konqurer and the a few hundred openings of konquer until konqurer crashed. Then the process repeats itself.

This is a serious bug which must be fixed before release. It creates a total system overflow.

Is this reproducible?
Can you provide a copy of the PDF which causes this issue?

Yes Jonathan,

I clicked on the link which is on page 45 of the latest PClinuxOS newsletter which I found on distrowatch. How ever, konquer also goes into a loop when i clicked the link in the email with your comment. Looks more like a link to konqurer problem but is worse in Ocular.

It is reproducable. Download doc and test.

Hein,

Thanks for reporting this. However, I cannot find the PCLOS newsletter anywhere on Distrowatch, and the latest one from the PCLOS is from April and only 44 pages. If you could attach that particular .pdf to the bug report so we can try to reproduce your bug, that would be greatly helpful.

I've attached a test file containing a table from a scientific paper that multiple links to GenBank. The links in the test file work for me: clicking on them in Okular opens up the proper page in Konqueror. It could be that the PCLOS newsletter has malformed links in it.

Matt, I ran a test with you file and it worked.

After todays updates, I ran a test with the pclinuxos newsletter file and it still crashes with many instances of Konquerere trying to open in a unending loop.

Here is the file reference. : http://www.pclosmag.com/zineshare/2008/102008.pdf

It is 11 M and too big to send by mail.

I clicked on the reference on page 45 which says PCFluxboxOX and it starts konquer out of Ocular in an unending loop.

Let me know what else I should do to assist.

I also tested the file with my desktop which runs a version of Kubuntu which was upgraded about 2 weeks ago and it does not have the same problem.

Here is the file attached.

Gents can close the bug. To my embarrassment I found today that one of the upgrades had wiped out the reference or preferred apps entries and it was pointing to a empty place. It then falls back on Konquerer which goes into a unending loop. When I replaced the reference with Firefox, problem went away. So definately not a Okular bug but caused by Konq.

Thanks for the quick support.
