Same here

just made a dist-upgrade (did the last update on Sunday) and after reboot the volume-control applet crashed, my theme looks the same as rrichters screenshot and I get the same error when opening Appereance.
Also Pidgin won't start - it gives the following error:
ERROR: Caught a segmentation fault while loading plugin file:
     /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstlibvisual.so

     Please either:
     - remove it and restart.
     - run with --gst-disable-segtrap and debug.
But Pidgin doesn't recognize the "--gst-disable-segtrap" switch.
