Bug Description

Binary package hint: likewise-open

This bug seems similar to a couple of others but the behaviour's not quite the same. The startup script appears to execute successfully during boot and there are no obvious errors from lwinet, but a core is dumped in /var/log/likewise-open/cores/winbindd and I cannot log on to our domain (Konsole displays a dialogue box which simply says "Error", with no further details) until I do "sudo /etc/init.d/likewise-open restart". This happens upon every boot.

I can't reproduce that error...
Did you update to 4.0.5-0ubuntu3.1 in hardy-updates and still get the same error ?
If you upgraded to intrepid, do you still have the error ?
Is there anything in the logs, anything produced apart from that core dump ?
Could you enable https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Apport and regenerate the crash info ?
Thanks,
