view menu in adept installer is empty

In adept manager, the view menu provides an alternative means for the user to select between the items in the leftmost pane (i.e. sources, search, details, changes, progress). Adept installer has similar items in the leftmost pane, but its view menu, while present, is empty. The view menu should either be removed from the menu bar altogether or populated with the items in the leftmost pane to mimic the behavior in adept manager.

I'm using adept 3.0~beta4ubuntu3 from Kubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid) Beta on an amd64 machine.

Yeah, the view menu isn't being populated at all in Installer or Updater.

This should not be marked as "low importance", as this makes it impossible to use adept to install non-gui packages (for instance).

This is talking about the View menu in the main menubar, right in between the "Adept" and "Help" menu. It is non-vital that this menu isn't populated.

I don't agree. How would you install apache2 for instance? You couldn't, because you'd need to use the "view" menu to select "all packages". OR use apt-get...

Please, fix this bug. very annoying for newbies. Empty menu looks very bad.

Unfortunately, Adept has been unmaintained by its original authors for several years, and nobody has stepped up to continue its development. (Though the Muon Suite is arguably its spiritual successor) As such, Adept has been removed from releases of Kubuntu from 12.10 onwards, and no additional improvements will be made to the software.
