Nonfunctional USB ports during boot with AverMedia DVB-T dongle

Bug #285319 reported by Milan Knizek

Bug Description

1) Ubuntu Intrepid Beta

2) Current kernel - see the attached logs

3) When USB dongle of AverMedia DVB-T is plugged in notebook IBM (Lenovo) Z60m before boot or restart, all usb devices are nonfunctional. It does not help to unplug and plug the devices again (even flash disks, what ever else).

4) USB devices should be properly recognised during start-up.

More information:

I tried five restarts of the notebook in a sequence with the dongle attached. Only once it was recognised correctly.
Then, I unplugged the dongle, restarted, plugged the dongle - and it worked flawlesly. Repeated five times to make sure.

With Hardy, having the dongle plugged in was never a problem during boot (I use the notebook as a MythTV box).

Attached are log files.

With final release of Intrepid this seems to be resolved.
