Bug Description
Description: Ubuntu intrepid (development branch)
Release: 8.10
After installing ubuntu 8.10 beta and performing the partial upgrade with kernel 2.6.27.7 generic on a Dell STudio 1735 laptop. When trying to enable additional restricted drivers all input stops working. Keyboard input is unresponsive and no menus work. The box for the menu highlights but the menu does not drop down. No errors are reported just no way to get any interactive gui working.

This happens with the ati restricted drivers enabled or disabled. The video drivers do not appear to make any difference to this bug.
