Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor

"gnome-system-monitor" appears to run fine, except that when the process "realplay" is running and then i move to the "processes" tab, it immediately crashes.

Another way to reproduce the bug is to first launch "gnome-system-monitor", wainting on to the tab "processes", and to launch "realplay".

I don't know what is the specificity of the "realplay" process. I join to this message the output of "gnome-system-monitor" when it crashes, the "top" command showing the "realplay.bin" process and a backtrace.

Hi,

I can't find a package with debug symbol for gnome-system-monitor, does it exists ?

By the way, my bug strongly looks like bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-monitor/+bug/180087 except that on this one, the firefox process is causing the crash.

I'm having the same issue, with or without firefox running, on AMD64 running Intrepid. It only started a day or two ago, and I don't know what's causing the problem.

Hope these attachments help; I attached two backtraces and two stacktraces, one while running Firefox and one not running Firefox.

do you still get the issue? the stacktrace seems to indicate which it indicates that it tries to open an icon not available but the optimization mask the icon name, do you use a non standard theme?

Hi,

I just downloaded the version of realplayer from the realplayer site and tested against the up to date version of ubuntu (gnome-system-monitor 2.24.1).

Everything seems to work now !

Kudos.
