Tested the keyboard with Hardy and it doesn't work with it either, so I guess this is not be same bug as #281993.

According to the upstream bug report, "This is a userspace issue, look at your xorg keyboard configuration please." . First can you confirm this issue remains with the latest 9.10 Karmic Alpha release? ISO Cd images are available at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/ . Thanks.

Tried with 9.10 and latest kernel. Multimedia keys still do not work and xev does not output anything when pressing keys.

Unfortunately it seems this bug is still an issue. Can you confirm this issue exists with the most recent Lucid Lynx 10.04 release - http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid/alpha-2/. If the issue remains in Lucid, please test the latest 2.6.32 upstream kernel build - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Let us know your results. Thanks.

@Vikram Dhillon: Tried both 2.6.32 and 2.6.34 kernels and still keys gave no input according to xev. My xorg.conf is currently empty, but i'm using evdev from gnome-keyboard-properties if it makes any difference.

Hi lemonade,

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If the issue remains, please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 284941

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
