audio record with error message

Ubuntu 8.10 beta : audio record with error message

Ubuntu 8.10 beta

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install Ubuntu 8.10 beta
2. # arecord aaa.wav
3. arecord failed and show error message:
arecord:pcm_read:1473: read error: Input/output error

Expected results:
The arecord should function normally with no error.

Additional info:
This issue does not rely on platform.
This issue is related with pulseaudio.
In other distros, ths issue is caused by the package alsa-plugins-pulse.

This issue still exists in 8.10 final release.

According to alsa HDA maintainer, the fix is included in alsa-plugins-
1.0.18 final release. So please upgrade the alsa-plugins to the final
version.

Please upgrade or install the final 8.10 release, and install all updates and try again. An issue similar, fnot exactly the same as this has been fixed in updates to 8.10.
