The package description includes this HowTo URL: http://samba.idealx.org/smbldap-howto.en.html, which does not appear to exist anymore.

At least as of Hardy, this bug is fixed. It points to http://download.gna.org/smbldap-tools/docs/samba-ldap-howto/

And actually, checking in my Intrepid system, it's the same one as in Hardy, so this is Fix Released.
