Upgrade jhbuild to more modern version

Binary package hint: jhbuild

Please upgrade jhbuild to a more modern version. Current upstream version in Intrepid (and Debian Sid) is SVN r1378, which was current as of Feb 16 2007. There have been ~1000 changes since then.

I'm willing to help out with this bug.

Thanks for reporting this. Im not sure on convention here this might be more properly described as a feature request. Or I seam to remember a process for nominating updated/new packages in the repositories. Also if you put jhbuild in the title it would be clearer and might draw the right person's attention faster although i think more importantly is selecting the jhbuild package which you did. Anyways thanks for bringing this issue up and please feel encouraged to keep reporting issues as they come up.

Thanks for the feedback. I changed the title as you requested. I don't have the link anymore, but I did find some documentation which suggested the 'upgrade' tag is appropriate for package version upgrades.

As far as I found out, you can only download jhbuild from cvs.
$ cvs -d :pserver:<email address hidden>:/cvs/gnome login
Logging in to :pserver:<email address hidden>:2401/cvs/gnome
CVS password: press enter
$ cvs -d :pserver:<email address hidden>:/cvs/gnome checkout jhbuild
$

Updating the packaging seems like a lose here and VCS is the way to go. I'm marking this bug as Invalid since I don't need the feature anymore.
