Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

My computer has a CD-RW drive and a Samsung SH-S223Q/BEBN DVD writer drive. I am trying to copy an appendable data DVD burned using Sonic RecordNow! in Windows. Because there's only one DVD drive I am reading from the same drive I will be writing to.

In Brasero "Select disc to copy" comes up as:

DATA DVD-R "crdom0"

then for "Select disc to write to" I also have

DATA DVD-R "cdrom0"

When I click the "Copy" button I get the error "impossible to find a format for the temporary image".

Details of my machine:

richard@beast:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 8.04.1
Release: 8.04
richard@beast:~$ apt-cache policy brasero
brasero:
  Installed: 0.8.1-0ubuntu2~hardy1
  Candidate: 0.8.1-0ubuntu2~hardy1
  Version table:
 *** 0.8.1-0ubuntu2~hardy1 0

        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     0.7.1-3ubuntu1 0
        500 http://gulus.usherbrooke.ca hardy/main Packages

I will attach the results of doing

brasero --debug &> brasero-debug.txt
