Bug Description
A template containing the '»' character appears differently on Windows, Linux, and MacOS X

It only appears correctly on Linux, however this may be because the application was created on a Linux system.
It should obviously appear the same on all platforms and importantly where this inconsistent comes from since we ship with our own version of freetype in the core.
