Bug Description

Binary package hint: bluez

After plugging bt adapter it shows correctly. When I am trying to to send files from my Nokia N70 to pc it can't find it. Same thing when I try to send files from pc to mobile phone. It worked perfectly before few updates. I am using Intrepid, if you need more info just ask.

It's possible that you adapter needs to be reset. Please elaborate on the adapter you are using, and provide "lsusb -vv" output for it.

You might consider trying to do a
sudo hcitool reset

To try the reset.

Note, you can't "receive" the files by the PC by default, but you can send them.

After reseting with
sudo hcitool reset

Pc is able to find mobile phone but can't send any file.
I can't pair pc and phone. All this worked before without problems.
After trying to pair my phone, it says "connecting .." and after some time it prints Paring failed.

Miloš,

please note that gnome-obex-server is deprecated, and you must used gnome-use-share now to receive files.

I actually have a different problem. I can connect my phone to my laptop. However, when I try to open the phone in nautilus, it says that obex doesn't support the url. Also, when I try to connect my mouse via bluetooth, the wizard immediately says the connection failed. I'm also trying to get LEGO Mindstorms NXTs to connect with my laptop for a research project. When I try connecting, it says connecting and just hangs there. Devs: PLEASE FIX BLUETOOTH! I can't continue my project until bluetooth is fixed. PLEASE FIX IT! I am running a fresh install of Intrepid with the latest updates. Intrepid will detect my USB dongle just fine. I do have gnome-user-share installed, which is why I'm stumped.

Like I said pairing doesn't work, of course it can't connect and send or receive files. My problem with bluetooth is that it works perfectly few months and after some update it stops. So it constantly changes form working to non-working state. If I just knew which version works fine I would always remove current and have installed that ver. from source. I tried that before, but no results.

is this also a duplicate of bug 268502 ? It may be a kernel driver problem rather than a problem in bluez.

I'm not sure this is the is same bug. My cellphone can't even find pc so it don't get to the stage of pairing. In https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/268502 they can see each other but can't pair.
