Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

This is a regression from KDE3 on Hardy. When restoring a session after login, only one konsole window is restored, no matter how many I had open in the saved session.

It also does not remember opened tabs in each window.

That's because it doesn't have a session saving feature in 4.1. It will for 4.2, though.

There's talk on kde-bugs that they're planning to port the fix back to 4.1. If that happens, could it be included in intrepid-updates or intrepid-backports.

Perhaps I should make this a separate wishlist bug, no?

Sorry, I don't think this is good enough.
You mean to say I either need to go back to Hardy/kde3 or wait another five months for a usable konsole?

At least you should add the information in which version of kde this is fixed. 4.1.2? 4.2?

The fix is in KDE 4.1.73 (alpah1-ish) and up. KDE 4.2 packages (and most likely pre-release packages for betas) will be made available for Intrepid too.

Thanks.
You should not close this bug as it has not yet been fixed.
"It is fixed in version xxx" and version xxx is not available yet (or you'd be crazy to use it 'cause its alpha) means the issue is open but resolved.

People complaining about the same issue will not easily find the bug if it is closed. They will open a new one and will not receive the gratifying information that konsole will be as usable as it used to be (until Intrepid) if we wait for another couple o'months.

Thanks again for your understanding.

Until something is formally released the bug should probably remain at "Fix committed".

Anyway, thanks to those involved for this fix, it's another step to making KDE4 usable again!
