Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Firefox crashes for me a significant percentage of the time (maybe 40%) that I launch it. I believe it is caused by the fact that I have a master password set and my home page invokes the password prompt. I have yet to see it crash when I press escape to stop the homepage from completely loading (thus preventing the password prompt from being shown).

I would like to add that I tried running Firefox in safe mode, using the -safe-mode parameter and it would still crash.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report didn't yield the required information. Please go ahead and submit a new crash report if it crashed again with the latest available package. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

I am not sure exactly how to get the information. When firefox segfaults, ubuntu-bug most often does not get launched. I was also trying to run it in gdb, but there were no debugging symbols installed and I cannot seem to find anything like a firefox-dbg package that would contain them.
