kompozer-bin crashes frequently when displaying menus

When trying to use kompozer it falls over when displaying sub-menus. If pop-up con text menus or the main menus have sub-menus and I try to enter them the application crashes.

This is repeatable.

This is on kubuntu 8.10 with a ASUS 900 EEE PC

I can confirm this with nvu, kompozer from Ubuntu, and compozer deb downloaded from sf.net.

The nvu binary worked in hardy.

This is a regression and probably not a bug in composer but in something it uses from Ubuntu.

As a workaround you can download NVU for Windows and run it in Wine.

Works quite seamlessly AFAICT.

If you change the theme of Ubuntu 8.10 or Dreamlinux 3.5 RC4 (Gnome 2.22 - 2.24) the compozer / nvu stops crashing after a mouseover menuitem subitem thing...

I changed from the standard theme "Go-Carbon" to "Go-SX" for examples and it works fine since i did this.

Im sure the crashes are only on empty submenus... maybe this could helpfull for developing...

where are these themes? I changed mine from "Human" to "Clearlooks" and "Glossy" and I still get the bug. I can't find "Go-Carbon" or "Go-SX" in my standard ubuntu 8.10?
