Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-do
Perhaps related to bug 280540, Do does not expand arguments like gnome-panel's launcher does.
For example typing "python ~/script.py" doesn't work in Do, while it does from a terminal or the g-p launcher.
Is a generic replace on the command of "~/" with the users home directory dangerous, for run commands? If not it seems like it could be a good solution.
