Bug Description
on kubuntu kde4.1.2(and other kde4.x) 8.04 or 8.10 when I press "Turn off computer" it very often doesn't poweroff my laptop.
Instead it hangs at a blank X screen just before exiting.
I then have to press the actual power button on the laptop and that normally makes it start the poweroff again and it completes.
The other option is pressing control+alt+f2 and logging in via that console and telling it to poweroff.
This is a very serious bug and thats why I'm reporting it.
The reason its serious is very often I quickly tell my laptop to shutdown and then pack it in my laptop bag.
When I get home I have a extremely hot laptop that could potentially be damaged from serious overheating issues.
This has happened to my friend too. Obviously one should check to see that the laptop shuts down however this issue should be noted/addressed.
