Bug Description

Binary package hint: hotkey-setup

This morning I initiated an upgrade via Synaptic and after the hotkey-setup had been upgraded to version 0.1-23ubuntu6, the volume hotkeys on my Sony Vaio VGN-A71M quit working. Actually, the graphical overlay (volume) still works but apparently with no direct effect on sound hardware.

Is this issue still present for you in Ubuntu 9.10?

Since you mention that the on-screen display still works, this is unlikely to be a hotkey problem; it's probably a problem of the volume controls being mapped to the wrong mixer by default. Reassigning to pulseaudio.
