Bug Description
Binary package hint: compiz
The python application Wikidpad
http://
has an option to 'minimize to tray'. With the application in this mode, minimized or not, if I try to enable compiz via the 'Appearance' menu, the area of the screen occupied by wikidpad flickers for some time, after which the message 'could not enable desktop effects comes up. If I load the wikidpad application after compiz is started, it works fine (except for user switching)
A related problem which I think is caused by the same bug is that if I switch users while compiz is enabled and wikidpad is running, the desktop crashes when I try to switch back to it.
Wikidpad can be installed by downloading the source WikidPad-
cd /usr/local/
export PYTHONPATH=
python /usr/local/
Minimize to tray is under 'Wiki / Options / User interface'
regards,
Jon

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Could you try to reproduce the same with Ubuntu 9.04? Thanks in advance.
