Bug Description

Binary package hint: hal

Cd-rom making annoying noise when it has a cd inside. Dual boot means the act of installing multiple platforms which in my case consist of Window Vista and Linux Ubuntu. The reason behind the problem as I suspect is due to the cd-rom driver compatibility between windows and Linux. The main problem when using Linux is the cd-rom keeps reading the cd the whole time even I did not access it. The problem may due to memory leakage or software failure to control the compact disc drive.

The temporary solving method:
-safe mode
-taking out the cd when is not using it
