Bug Description

"There are actually two different cases relating to volumes. One is a single work that happens to be published in two physical volumes -- that's the Middlemarch case (see #103 on the Open Library Great Books Collection: http://openlibrary.org/collections/greatbooks ). The other is that of the large multi-volume sets that contain a number of different works (Aristotle and Pascal, and I'm sure we have some of Shakespeare). This is the case in which we either need a record for each work which points to the digitized volume, or a single record for the set, with links from the ToC. The problem with the latter is that the user does not see the individual works in the retrieved list. So the user will do a search on Aristotle and will see one record in the list that is: Aristotle, Works. That doesn't fit well with the great books collection. The problem with having a separate record for each work... well, there are two problems: 1) we won't get these from libraries so we would have to create them ourselves 2) we don't currently have the fields we would need to create this. The display should end up looking like:

Aristotle
  On interpretation
in: Aristotle. Works. London, Rowe, 1902. v. 3

So we need the field that contains the 'in:'. In MARC this is a 773 field "host item entry." This way of showing the relationship between the individual work and the collection is not ideal, because it doesn't create an actual link from the individual work or chapter to the actual 'host item.' But at the moment I don't know of a better way to do it. We could include a link to the record for 'Aristotle. Works' but we still need a link to v.3 of the digitized copy."
