Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

I am not able to start a graphical interface, using the Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex Beta Live CD in combination with the Open-Source ATI video driver.

Hardware:
ATI Xpress 1250

Software: (All packages are included in the Intrepid Ibex Beta live CD)
Kernel: Linux ubuntu 2.6.27-4-generic
Xserver: xserver-xorg-core: 2:1.5.1-1ubuntu1
ATI-Driver: xserver-xorg-video-ati: 1:6.9.0+git20080826.a3cc1d7a-2ubuntu3

I added the logs created by bullet-proof-x, including the 'lspci'-output for the hardware specs.

Looking at the log file, you're seeing an X server crash. Unfortunately the backtrace (below) is pretty scant. Can you still reproduce this issue on the released intrepid? If so, please collect a full backtrace - directions are at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Backtracing. Thanks ahead of time.

(II) RADEON(0): RADEONScreenInit d0000000 0 0
Output 0 disable success

Backtrace:
0: /usr/X11R6/bin/X(xf86SigHandler+0x79) [0x80c3069]
1: [0xb7fdb400]
Saw signal 11. Server aborting.
