Bug Description
The Trash applet in Gnome doesn't seem to handle moving files to trash across
separate partitions very well. The following is eminently reproducible on Dapper:
1 - Empty your Trash folder completely.
2 - Open a Nautilus window anchored on a different partition to which '/home' is
mounted on.
3 - Right-click a file and select "Move to Trash".
4 - Mouse over the Trash icon on the taskbar and observe that it displays "No
items in Trash".
5 - Click on this icon and note that the file you just moved to Trash is in fact
there.
This also means that "Empty Trash" fails to remove files originating from other
partitions as well, which may explain bug 26869 .
Possibly related to bug 26633 .
