Bug Description

Same system/BIOS settings, etc. work fine with 8.04.1 (up-to-date), as it does with all previous versions of Ubuntu. Fails to detect eth0 booting from ubuntu-8.10-beta-desktop-i386 livecd. Loopback networking is present but eth0 is not (in Network Tool).
