Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org-l10n-fr

When installing OpenOffice.org on a french- localized Ubuntu, the language packages are not installed, so OpenOffice still speaks english.

Furthermore, the help, hyphenation and spellcheck packages are not installed either.

Description: Ubuntu 8.04.1
Release: 8.04

How did you manage to install Ubuntu without language-support-fr being installed?

To be really clear, the dependency chain for openoffice.org-l10n-fr, so it should ALWAYS be installed on a French installed version of Ubuntu.

language-support-fr -> language-support-translations-fr -> openoffice.org-l10n-fr

Well, I don't know!
In fact, I've installed Ubuntu in french from the CD, then when I've launched OOo, I've seen it was still in english.
I've had to manually install all the french stuff.

Reassigning to ubuntu-meta though I am not sure if this is the right location.

Somehow the user managed to install for his language without it installing the language packs for him...

If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect 280656, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
